Update 1.3 (REQUIRED)


Dear Mass Experiment Uptime-Monitoring Effort and Legacy Support Team,

I write to you today with good news and bad news.

The good news? I've made the mass client much more accurate - it should now properly emulate the repository's physical location. Much less about the mass client is client-side - meaning that your actions (other than just recharging LSNodes) will be visible by other RMOs.

The bad news? My time spent focusing on this server-restructuring effort has taken away from my time to focus on recovering LS2's filesystem. Still uncertain on if or when that will happen, but do know that it's on my mind.

Adjustments in mass 1.3 are as follows:

  • Patched a broken cable.
  • Fixed a bug where the game wouldn't launch correctly if you had an invalid settings file.
  • LSNode energy display meters are slightly different.
  • Lighting now adjusts relative to mass's mood.
  • RMOs now sync correctly!
  • LSNodes are now SERVER-SIDE.
  • Changed how the mass client emulates the repository's physical location.



To elaborate on the whole emulation thing - the mass client is a way to connect to and represent the repository. If the client isn't built correctly, it may not correctly represent what the repository actually looks like.

Evidence of this change can be seen via the coffee cup I left next to LS2 a few weeks ago.
